Week of 11/30-12/4 Post #2

For my second blog post this week, I would like to discuss an agreement that was made that I believe is a great idea and will be extremely beneficial in the future both to human populations as well as in relation to my topic, animal populations. There was a an agreement made that aimed to implement a program throughout the world that is focused on "risk reduction" and potential ways to prevent natural disasters before they happen. The focus of the program is to install a system that gives people, especially in lesser developed countries more of a "heads up" in relation to natural disasters. This idea is a great one and to help this be achieved, 80 million dollars was given to this program with the hopes of many lives being saved in the future and it impacting more than 1 billion people worldwide. Along with this, insurance agencies in the lesser developed countries is being looked at with the hopes of these systems being expanded to protect more people and particularly the more vulnerable people in our world. I believe that it is great that this system is being expanded and installed as it will potentially save a large amounts of lives in the future by being able to alert the people in danger sooner and this will help by giving these people more time to go to safety. I also believe that this may help us to understand these deadly storms better and potentially lead to us to lower the odds that they occur in the future and this will be of benefit to animal populations if we change our negative consumption lifestyles for the better.
